With Dancesport coming up very soon, a couple in our 285 class asked if we wanted to get together & critique each other Saturday. We met up with them in the Ballroom of the Wilk and were just practicing and kinda goofing around. Some people started coming in and we could tell they were beginning to set up for a party. A little while later, one of the guys walks up to us and asks us to perform at their dance that night! (it was the Twister preference dance . . . BYUSA, yeah . . .) He said that they would love to have us as one of their "acts". As flattering as that was, we declined. James had been up since 4AM, me since 5AM and the other couple had plans. But the biggest reason we didn't want to is we didn't want someone from the ballroom team or any of the teams there . . . watching (Although they were all most likely at the Alpine classic). Cause really, we're 285 students. Now if it were somewhere other than BYU campus, I would have done it :) Like at my wedding reception in Lodi. We did a 185 samba routine and everyone
LOVED it. They all thought we were on the ballroom team or something. Really funny and flattering. So if you ever want to impress people, go somewhere away from Utah where dancing isn't offered in High School and you'll knock the socks off people with a Bronze level class routine :)
